XYNTService is a free application that automatically starts applications when Windows boots (sometimes called an auto-loader). It will also restart the application if it is closed or crashes. It can be downloaded here: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cpp/XYNTServiceWrapper.aspx

This article will walk through the process of starting the XYNTService configuration program, pausing the monitoring of a program, adding and removing applications, and applying the changes.

Starting the configuration program

After connecting to your Windows VPS, minimise any windows you have open and look on the desktop for an icon named "Configure XYNTService":

Applying your changes

1. At the bottom right of the main window, click the button labelled "Save".

PLEASE NOTE: until "Save" is clicked on the main configuration window, none of the previous changes will be applied. Its really easy to miss this step - if previous changes are not working, chances are its because the "Save" button was not click on the main window.

2. After clicking "Save", click the button labelled "Stop".

WARNING: This will close all your auto-loaded programs, such as MetaTrader.

After a few seconds, you should see the Stop button turn to gray and the Start button turn black:

3. Click the button labelled "Start". All of your auto-loader programs should now appear.

4. When you're happy with your auto-loader configuration, restart your Windows VPS and confirm that the programs all start on their own after a reboot.

Pause monitoring a program

1. Select the program you want XYNTService to temporarily suspend monitoring.

stop_xynt_mt4

2. Click 'Stop' to suspend monitoring. This will allow you to install Expert Advisors in Metatrader 4, for example, without the program restarting before you are ready.

3. Click Start to resume monitoring the program with XYNTService.
