If your Windows Server 2003 server was shutdown or rebooted unexpectedly, you might be presented with the Shutdown Event Tracker window on your next login.


This is typically not a sign of serious problems. Servers (just like desktops) can reboot spontaneously, though it is generally unusual. If you are having constant reboots it may be indicative of a problem with your server configuration/


This window must be attended to before being able to continue using the server in a normal manner. You will find the OK button is disabled when first presented with this window as shown in the image below.

Enabling the OK button simply requires entering text into the Comment field.

After entering some text into the Comment field, click the OK button to continue on to your server's Remote Desktop.
